I think I’ve found one of my new favourite ways to enjoy tofu, you’ve got to try it!
These bang bang tofu nuggets are made using sweet chilli popped crisps to coat the tofu and it honestly works so well!
You will need:
- 1 block firm tofu
- 1 large pack of sweet chilli popped crisps
- 1/2 cup unsweetened oat milk (or other dairy-free milk)
- 2 tbsp plain flour
- 2 tbsp cornflour
Bang bang sauce:
- 1/3 cup vegan mayonnaise
- 3 tbsp sweet chilli sauce
- 1 tsp sriracha
- 1 tsp agave syrup
Method:
1. Tear the tofu into small chunks.
2. In a bowl, combine the oat milk, plain flour and cornflour.
3. In another bowl crush the sweet chilli popped crisps into crumbs.
4. Coat the tofu in the milk mixture and then roll it in the crisp crumbs. Place on a plate and repeat until they are all coated.
5. Place the tofu in the air fryer for 12 minutes or the oven for 18 minutes at 180C.
6. Prepare the dip by combining the vegan mayo, sweet chilli sauce, sriracha and agave syrup.
7. Once the tofu is cooked, serve in a bowl and dip them in the sauce.
You could also serve them in a salad or a wrap with the sauce and it would be delicious!
